Inverleigh Primary School had an existing wastewater treatment plant that was no longer performing effectively. The effluent disposal field had become blocked, resulting in effluent pooling in various locations throughout the school grounds.

Diston was engaged to provide an enhanced wastewater treatment solution with a reliable, robust design suited to the needs of the site. A key requirement from the Department of Education was to relocate effluent disposal away from areas where surfacing could present a risk to students, staff, or visitors.

With the support of Golden Plains Shire, Diston were approved to implement

Diston Tree Reuse Cells ( DTRC) as the effluent reuse method. This approach helped limit the area required for effluent disposal, reduced health and safety risks, and created a more visually appealing landscaped backdrop for the school environment.

The result was a practical and sustainable wastewater solution that improved site safety, supported long-term treatment performance, and delivered environmental and aesthetic benefits for the school community.
