Majura Field Firing Range

The proposed extension will provide additional land for Defence training purposes and will occur over the next 12 months.  The area to be included will be used for “non-live firing” operations only. Use of the training area has increased significantly over the past five years at the same time as a decline in the availability of non-Defence training areas. As a result the army has proposed an extension to provide a more environmentally sustainable training area by allowing for rest and rotation of other training areas. Defence has engaged Diston Wastewater to will manage the land to improve its environmental and training values by augmenting a state of the art sewage treatment plant from the existing septic and eduction system.
